Killer heels part 1!

Okay, so my fibre art project is due this thursday, but I thought I'd put my working photos up anyway.

Here's where it starts getting messy...

Hopefully I'll get it finished in time. In the meantime, I'll be sitting watching paint dry. Woohoo!

Well, finally I painted up Spacesick and Fatheed's tee design from Threadless that I took upon myself to make a model of. I just couldn't resist his pink destructiveness long enough to wait for them to print this. And they'd better...

Mishap Monster...

Rawrrrrr! Please remember that the design doesn't belong to me, it belongs to Spacesick and Fatheed, and if it prints, Threadless.

Shoes, glorious shoes!

Yesterday, I bought 8 pairs of shoes. Yes, that's right. EIGHT pairs.

3 pairs were from various opportunity shops or thrift stores. They'll be used for my fibre art project.

2 pairs were brand new shoes I'm intending on customising. They're just for practice really, so I got one rubbishy canvas pair, and one leather old lady pair. Pure shexyness.
Too many shoes 1

3 pairs of brand spanking newness were for me. Because I like shoes. And they were cheap. Number One Shoe Warehouse has awesome two for one clearance sales.

The best part of this is that I spent under $50. And that's NZD.
Plus, there's a cookie in it for you if you can guess both the cheapest and most expensive pairs!

It's been a long time coming...

And, if the postal service is behaving itself, it will still be another 1-3 working days away. But, here is the amazing door sign I promised to make for my friend Emma, but then promptly forgot about and remembered a couple of months later, only to procrastinate about putting it in the post.

Sorry.

On the bright side, it will be a surprise for her, because she has most likely forgotten about it too. Let's just hope she isn't reading this now, unless it is 1-3 working days later.

Emma's door sign!

It's quite a nifty thing, because not only is it a sign for Emma's door, but it also includes a block of post-it notes, a Stop/Go sign, and a dress-up doll (accessories not included). I hope you like it, Emma dear!

Well, that's all for today. There ought to be more pictures from life-drawing class up tomorrow. See you then!

The beginning of something beautiful...

(or in the very least, something vaguely interesting.)
This being my first post, I probably ought to use it to introduce myself.

My name is Kimberley, but I'd rather you called me Kimby. I'm 18, have glasses, and am well and truly taken, thankyou very much. I love painting, drawing and design, with a sprinkle of craft thrown in for good measure. I also enjoy reading, writing overly long stuff (as you will soon find out), and listening to music. Not that I've ever met someone who doesn't enjoy listening to music. If you don't, let me know, and I'll fix that sentence right up.

The point of this blog is that I'll be posting the artwork I'm making at my art course, so that you can all keep up with what I'm doing. There's a lot of people out there I'd love to keep in touch with, especially my friends who have moved away for study, but also people from a few forums and the like... or anyone who's interested in what I'm making, basically.

The other point of this blog is to keep me motivated to make artwork that inspires people. I guess it's just an outlet for my creativity, so I'd love to hear from anyone who has an opinion on what I'm making- good or bad. Hopefully I'll also get to talk about some of the artists of my acquiaintance, in reality or over the internet... because some of them are just so darn cool!

Okay, I've gone on enough. If you have something you'd like to say, leave a comment or send me an email, and I'll be glad to hear from you.

Thanks for your patience. If you read the whole thing, you deserve a cookie. Actually, let me know if you did, because I might just be able to do something about that...

Kimby.
